Types of subclass 482 visa Streams
1.Short term stream
For employment that is included in the Short-Term Skilled Occupation List (STSOL).
Valid for up to 2 years (or 4 years if an international trade obligation applies).
Applicants can renew this visa once while in Australia.
2.Medium-Term Stream
For professions found in the Medium and Long-Term Strategic Skills List (MLTSSL).
Duration of 4 years maximum.
Offers a pathway to permanent residency after 3 years through the Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186).
3.Labour Agreement Stream
By the contract between the employer and the Australian Government, the workers have been sponsored under that labour agreement.
The terms and conditions depend on the specific agreement.
Eligibility Criteria
Must be nominated by an approved Australian employer.
The occupation for which the nomination is done should be in the respective skilled occupation list.
It is a prerequisite to having a minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the nominated occupation or in the related field.
It is necessary to have at least competent English (for example, IELTS score not less than 5 overall).
All the requirements regarding health and character have to be met.
Full health insurance coverage is required during the stay in Australia.
